This book is definitely not for me as far as children’s books go. As early as chapter one it was a no. The first sentence even started out rough. Characters repeatedly in a short period of time repeat phrases like “you’re nuts” “you’re crazy” “shut up”. There is kid on kid judgement based on how many social followers they had… insults of “thin skull”and on and on. Very strange plot set up. Lots of poop talk, which is fine, but it just wasn’t redeeming enough to keep reading. The MC wanted to become pooped scooper parade famous to earn her mother’s love. The other stand in adult figure is immediately swearing and threatening MC’s pet. This book might be for somebody, but I wouldn’t personally recommend. They certainly would appeal to more of an immature crowd. I do however, like the valuable lesson in this book I think it is appropriate for older elementary students who enjoy a funny read. I could see this series continuing with more silly adventures ahead. This review was written for LibraryThing Early Reviewers. I recieved this book for free from #LibraryThing early reviews in exchange for an honest review.Honestly, this book has pretty much nothing going for it. It's a juvenile novel about the dangers of social media. As awful as that sounds it's actually worse. Mega Gossip is their local social media platform on Puddoin Head island. And yet she's gong to get a million followers? There's also lots of jokes about poop. Probably be good for junior high boys, but I also don't see junior high boys reading a book with girls as the protagonists. This review was written for LibraryThing Early Reviewers. Maya and Waggers are back! This time the duo is out to find fame and fortune with the help of social media. Of course they run into their share of missteps with hilarity but the story also teaches valuable lessons about the use of social media and gossiping about others. Much needed in today's climate! This is a cute little series for older elementary aged kids. Looking forward to the next installment. :) This review was written for LibraryThing Early Reviewers. Great learning lesson on not gossiping about people. no reviews | add a review
