( ) Crusie-esque, though I know Crusie doesn't like romances about romance authors. Southern romance author who's known for her beta heroes, whose career is stalled is told by her new editor to change her latest book: set it in the north, make the hero an alpha cop, and add more sex. She meets a cop from a wealthy family when she takes out his team in paintball. Lots of laughs, especially at the contrasts between their internal dialogue and what they actually say, and there's also a lot of emotional depth in between and underneath the laughs. Loved this one. no reviews | add a review

Southern romance writer Miranda Lane may be famous for her sensitive heroes, but her new editor wants a brooding, sexy cop that female readers will die for. Unfortunately, cops leave Miranda cold, so she turns to the arrestingly handsome Detective Chas Casey. The commitment-shy Chas is the perfect role model for her book. Soon enough she realizes that she's losing her heart to a man who specializes in drive-by romance. Now she's writing her own personal love story with a hero like no other-and a happy ending all her own. No library descriptions found. |
