Excellent tactical account of the battle of Richmond, Ky broken down to the regimental level. Doesn't have much good to say about Gen Manson, and rightly so. Chapters regarding the battle of Perryville are equally awesome. Author really nails it on troops and terrain, which I really appreciate.

Lots of research from regimental sources, and background info on the major figures. I think this book is invaluable, if somewhat quaint. (
