For my son (Biting in Plain Sight)

First words |
It was five days before Christmas, a quarter 'til midnight. Bubba the Vampire and I were raking up clippings from my newly-trimmed bushes about midnight when the long black car pulled up. The town knew Sophie Tourneau was a creature of the night, but they were careful not to ask too many questions. She came out of it curled on the living room rug, sweating and nauseated. The silver toe cap on the end of the black snakeskin cowboy boot gleamed as it rushed toward Daniel Hart's face.

I actually skipped the the first short story, because it is set in Lauren K. Hamilton's Anita Blake series, and after I read the first book I still haven't totally rejected the posibility of readind this series and I didn't want the spoilers.
The other short story was a Sookie Stakehouse story (that I'm pretty sure I had read already).
After that came the longer stories (I guess I should call them novellas, I believe that's the current industry term).
The first one was a vampire love story, with a let's catch a murdering vampire plot in the mix.
The second one had a parallel universe with witches and Knights of the Round Table vampires fighting other (bad) vampires. I actually liked this universe and I want more of Galahad's story (and I just noticed that this is part of a series).
The last one was a vampire romance. Lets call the origin story of True Blood (the drink, not the series)... ( )
