I have to say that the series is getting better. Rather than 'Hells Bells' we are now inundated with 'Stars and Stones'...it's a nice change of pace although still way over done. I don't know if it was worth hanging in until the 7 book to start actually enjoying the series but these higher series numbers help in the goodreads challenges so I can stick it out. ( )

Okay folks, this is it. This is the one.

This is the one that, instead of me thinking it was kind of fun, kind of okay, with some really good parts, but also some stuff I could do without?

Yeah, this one I truly ENJOYED. It was FUN. Stuff HAPPENED. Things that happened in previous novels were brought back and paid off. More things are set up to happen going forward.

This one felt like Butcher finally hit his stride. ( )

The one where it really starts to get good. Has several priceless scenes, especially in the last third, that had me re-reading this book. Best dinosaur scene ever. ( )

Up until this point I kind of liked the series, but mostly I kept reading it because it was supposed to be so good. This book is where it actually gets good, this and the next 4 (that's how far I've read so far) are worth reading the first 6 for. ( )

Focus on Bob the skull, and necromancy; the book "Die Leid der Erlking"; and Sue the T-rex from the Field Museum in Chicago. This must be the funniest story so far, following the plot, hopes come true as Jim Butcher writes in his story what I wished he would. Enjoyed this one immensely. ( )

Quotations
From Morgan, this was the equivalent of Emperor Constantine converting to Christianity. He was almost admitting that he had been wrong. I reached into my pocket, pulled out a penny, and dropped it to the floor.
"What was that for?" he asked.
"I'm just making sure gravity is still online," I said.

"By any chance does all of this knowledge and power and good advice come for only three easy installments of $19.95 plus shipping and handling?"
The fallen angel arched a golden brow at me.
"Or maybe it comes with a bonus set of knives tough enough to saw through a nail, yet still cut tomatoes like this!"
She regarded me steadily and said, "You aren't nearly as funny as you think you are."
"I had to come up with some kind of response to your offer to corrupt and enslave me. Bad jokes seemed perfectly appropriate because I can only assume that you've got to be kidding."
