This play-adapted-into-novella is minor Alasdair Gray, but even a minor work by the author of the wonderful "Lanark" is worth reading. It's a funny and at times unsettling tale of a Scotsman on the make in London, aided and abetted by various upper-class twits' perception of him as a useful fool/tool. ( )
