The six Bullerby children have a wonderful life in the countryside. I think this book is important to tell children that one can life without computer games, mobile phones and other toys. These children have natural playthings, rivers, stones, the garden, the forest and animals and are definitely happy children. To my regard this book can not only inspire children, but also adults to spend more time outside and renounce modern playthings from time to time. The children from noisy village are a collection of beautiful stories about the life of 7 children who live in three farms called noisy village. The narrator is a little girl called Lisa who tells the adventurous stories of their lives in this little village in Sweden. Springtime is a special time in the year as all the animals on their farm get babies and all the flowers and trees start to bloom! I simply love the books of noisy village but if you have the chance, read it in German.... ;) no reviews | add a review

The boys and the girls are almost indistinguishable except that the girls wear little skirts; all are active and get dirty skinned knees and do chores. There is one unfortunate reference to "Indians" at the end but it's just innocent naivety. ( )
