K says: This series is wonderful! We own a wide variety of these, and the science aspects are interesting, while the vocabulary is easily accessible to growing readers. My first grader began reading these in September of her 1st grade year, and the subject matters (spiders, plants, bats, space) were so interesting that she didn't even realize how *much* she was reading!
There are generally three to four chapters, ranging from about 15-20 pages total, with between two to four sentences a page. Each book also includes a glossary and comprehension questions, along with many colorful photographs and diagrams.
The Earth introduces (nothing in depth here) topics like the Earth's atmosphere, the effects of the Earth's rotation around the Sun and its tilt, as well as how the Earth changes.
HIGHLY recommended! ( )
