A fun romp through Deathly Hallows as Henry Potty destroys chunks of Lord Revolting's soul in the One Ring, Dead Man's Chest etc. Spoofs half the YA fantasies out there! ( )

Fast and Furious Frankel flames...well, I ran out of effs: Harry Potter! The boy wonder deserves it. For all of your who are suffering from withdrawal after the last book and before the next movie, this should cure it. I love how Frankel picked up on the controversy surrounding Dumbledore's sexual preference. People objected, as though they had any claim on the character. I also loved how she exploited the plot weakness of Snape's betrayal. After all, the guy is supposed to be smart, and he has seen Potter prevail against Voldemort every time, and STILL he can't resist the dark arts/thinks Voldemort will win?

These days, we need a reason to laugh, and Frankel punctures the balloon quite completely. Put it on your shelf next to all those overpriced hard cover Scholastic books, and the world will not seem so dark. ( )

Frankel has recreated a Harry Potter story but in a tongue-in-cheek style that is hilarious. Her chapter headings are wickedly funny with titles such as A Series of Unfortunate Camping Trips and The Dimness is Rising. This is an unofficial version to a story that is loved by hundreds. I think Frankel will pick up her own army of fans with this original take on the Potter books. It’s not just HP that gets the Frankel treatment either, there are several other well known and loved stories included in this tale. The Wicked Witch of the West and Dracula even make an appearance along with several other fantasy characters. Although this is the sequel to Henry Potty and the Pet Rock it can be read as a stand-alone quite easily. I laughed out loud at several passages and highly recommend this book to fans of humorous fantasy novels and parodies. Suitable for all ages this is one that can be shared by the whole family. ( )

Book description
The devious Lord Revolting has split his soul into seven Plot Devices, from the One Ring to the Really Gross Wooden Eyeball. Can Henry Potty, lousy student and heroic Chosen One, destroy them in time? Or will a paper shortage kill him, as the corporeally challenged Bumbling Bore foresees? Join Henry as he duels mimes, droids, blobs, religious extremists, parapsychologists, and the dreaded Tooth Fairy. Which is the deadlier weapon: the Wand of Napalm or the Mega Death Laser 3000? It’s a race against National Treasures, Legions of Dimness, and Miniclorians, from the Funhouse of Terror to the Locker Room of Doom. But if Henry wants to recoup his fans from Professor Sniffly Snort, he must try…
