Along the same lines of the rest of the series, a group of children have a secret club and solve mysteries in their home town. Like the Five Find-Outers series by the same author, but the Secret Seven is for younger kids and, inconsequence, the novels are shorter and with simpler plots.

After reading this one, the previous book in the series (Secret Seven Mystery) remains my favorite, but this one is a fine entry too. I like the trend in the latest books of having the villains not be so villanous, but human beings dealing with human powers and perhaps making mistakes.

The Secret Seven's nemesis, Susie, is becoming more obnoxious in the latest books. I used to feel sorry for her because she was excluded from the club, but after a certain point she's just kind of toxic. An interesting opponent for the protagonists.

The mysteries are still simple, but for the _target audience they are fine, and at this point of the series I think they have become more interesting than the first ones. ( )
