Another Secret Seven adventure. Compared to the Famous Five, the Adventure books and other series written by the same author, this series is for younger readers, so expect shorter, simpler stories.

This one features Susie starting her own rival club, The Famous Five, called after the Famous Five from Blyton's series who are, funnily enough, fictional characters in the Secret Seven's universe. Susie plays a joke on the Secret Seven, sending them on what she thinks is a wild goose chase, only to inadvertently put then on the trail of a real adventure.

I enjoyed the rivalry between the Seven and Susie's gang, and despite how simple the story is, Blyton is always a good storyteller. ( )

This is one of the Secret Seven novels I most remember and it makes perfect "recovery day" reading, even if Peter does continue to seriously annoy me. ( )
