Fine describes the different aspects of her subject's life in equal measure, never losing track of the adventures that inform most, if not all, of Paulsen's works.

Reading this book gives you a different perspective of an author's life story. It gives you an insight of how the author came up with the stories that could actually happen to someone. I found the time line at the back of the book very interesting. This book would be great for an author study on Gary's life and writing. ( )
