It is a really good book for readers who love reading about dogs. News for Dogs is a familiar piece in many kids’ childhoods: finding creative ways to make money. Unlike lemonade stands and other less rewarding ways to explore the business world, Andi and Bruce (her brother) find a cost-effective way of appealing their talents and creative energies. But it isn’t long before their untrained business skill leads them into trouble. It has a creative side to it that when you read it this will never make you want to stop reading the book. The addition of a dog napping plot may seem far-fetched until you read it within the context of the growing storyline. News for Dogs has a huge heart, and the author’s characters aren't afraid to show theirs - which means young readers will find this an engaging, exciting and thought-annoying tale about both the best and worst instincts that man and man's best friend have to offer. Each page will burst out at you and say that it wants to be read. Some of the pages that you read will take you into another world and thinking about how life would be in the story. This book is an action and an adventure. It includes many real-life aspects of the world around us. The story includes a brother and a sister (which I mentioned earlier) getting a news paper about dogs, for dogs. I willing to continue the series bit-by-bit until the end comes. I would recommend this book to anyone who likes dogs. So read it and find out if you like it, I did. Reviewed by Kira M for TeensReadToo.com Now that Andi and Bruce are no longer running a hotel for dogs, they decide to start up a new venture: a newspaper for dogs. Hoping to use the money to buy a dog from a neighborhood bully, the two use it as a moneymaking technique. The newspaper is a big hit, but they attract some unwanted attention. When the newspaper gets out of hand, their parents shut it down. But then the dogs who were featured in the paper start disappearing, and their abductors begin demanding a ransom from people on fixed incomes. When Bruce's new dog that he got from the bully disappears, as well, the two suspect that their friends might be behind the dognappings. Can Andi and Bruce find the kidnapped dogs? A fun, quick read, especially for reluctant readers. The characters are true to their natures from the first book, HOTEL FOR DOGS, and are easy to like and relate to. The plot keeps moving and the mystery is well-developed. Those who like mysteries, animal stories, and realistic fiction will enjoy reading NEWS FOR DOGS. no reviews | add a review
