Nothing like opening a book in a series and finding out it’s skipped forward…by six years. Yes, six years. Hear me sigh in irritation.

The last book left off with a stunning revelation, but we’ve skipped forward now. Once I got past that annoying development, the story continues to demand my attention.

Darren hasn’t seemed to think or tend to the views of the former traitor he was considering before (peace treaties), and while not enjoying killing, does it with more natural ease when it’s needed. Or else, when he thinks it’s needed. Mr. Tiny has returned and along with his encounter, an interesting sorceress who tells the potentials of the future as well. Characters like Lady Evanna amp up the fantasy aspect.

The trio – Darren, Crepsley, and Harkat – leave the mountains finally to begin a classic adventure journey. Fits in well no matter the age level. There are four foretold chances, and the fate of the entire race depends on failure or success.

There was also a tossed in other possible outcome that affects Darren more personally, something I hope the next book covers in more detail. It’s dark, it’s serious, and it raises the stakes in a different direction. Curious and revving to go continue this journey in the next book – these just fly by when reading them.

Another four star book in the series that works in making this world more complex, more captivating.

Darren Shan leaves Vampire Mountain as part of an elite force on a life-and-death mission to find the newly-risen Vampaneze Lord, who is set to lead the vampaneze into war against the vampires

The author did not disappoint on this one! The story has really progressed and with a few pleasant surprises. Each book in the series has made me want to keep reading and I can't wait to get to the end (I hope it's worth it). Larten and Darren are in true form and it's always nice to catch up with old friends; as well as to make new ones. ( )

Yet another Darren Shan book, where nothing much happens. Its a good idea but is poorly executed. Explanations of vampire powers are constantly repeated in each book, to a tiresome degree. Reads more like a eight grade essay than anything else. ( )

Several years have passed since the events of Cirque Du Freak #6: The Vampire Prince. Darren has settled into his role of Vampire Prince, but times are not easy. A war is raging between the vampires and their blood-cousins, the vampaneze. Prophecy has dictated that the Vampaneze Lord, once fully blooded, would lead the vampaneze into a war against the vampires and wipe them out, and the vampires have lived with this knowledge for six hundred years.

But now Mr. Tiny has informed them that was simply the most likely outcome. For it now appears that there are four chances for the vampires to avert the course of destiny and save their race, three of which will occur within the next twelve months. Three vampire hunters have been named as the only ones who can hunt the Lord of the Vampaneze and take responsibility for the future of the vampire clan. Darren Shan and Larten Crepsley are two of those three, the third of whom they are to meet on the road. So after spending the last six years inside Vampire Mountain, Darren and Mr. Crepsley hit the road again, accompanied by Little Person Harkat Mulds, to hunt down the Vampaneze Lord and save the vampires.

This was another fast-paced and quick read in the Saga of Darren Shan. I love how the author always includes a prologue at the start of each book to bring you back up to speed with past events. This is particularly useful if, like me, you've gone several months or even a year since reading the previous book. So after that quick little refresher, I was off and running with another great Darren Shan story. Book 8 seems to pick up right where this one left off so I'll be diving right into that one now too. :-) ( )

The title of the book is Cirque Du Freak #7: Hunters of the Dusk, and was written by Darren Shan. It has a total of 213 pages, there are more pages but it is for the next book. At first they are a Vampire Mountain, then they go to a village, then at last they are heading for Lady Evanna. The main characters are: Darren Shan, Mr. Crespley, and Vancha. No, the characters are not believable, cause a human can't turn half vampire. Also humans can fly move fast, and dodge a bullet neither catch a bullet. Well my favorite character is Darren Shan cause he had to pass some hard challenges to turn to a Vampire Prince. When he took the under water challenge it felt like i was there watching him doing it. Also i felt when he couldn't breath under water. The problem of the story is, they have to go look for the vampaneze and kill there leader. So the war can be over with. They did find the leader but the leader got away. Well the problem is not solved because the leader got away and now they have to go look for him again. What i like of the book is that they had to go kill some over leader and like those kind of book it get me interested. I wouldn't change nothing of the book i will leave it the way it is. That Darren Shan was already turning to a full vampire. It takes like 20-25 years to get to bea full vampire. Well if you are a fan of Darren Shan book yuo should read this book. If you are not a fan you should read a book and you will like his books.
