I've read a couple of guides already to prepare for next year's hike, so I was pleasantly surprised to find that this guide still had some interesting tips and tricks to share. ( ) I was overall unimpressed. I feel that the author was nudged to writing a book about her experience hiking the trail, and this is what resulted. It is an advice book that fails to give any actual advice. When talking about gear, there are no illustrations to demonstrate the various parts that she talks about. Similar advice: when purchasing gear, bring a seasoned hiker. They'll tell you what you need. That's what I was reading this book for. I was hoping for a how-to, and this simply wasn't. no reviews | add a review
