This is an excellent catalogue which accompanied a Botticelli exhibit at the Musee de Luxembourg in 2003-4. It has very good color reproductions. I think one of the strengths of the catalogue is the great depth and detail of the articles/essays:

"Botticelli's Manner"
"Love and the Figure of the Nymph in Botticelli's Art"
"Movement, Action, and Expression in the Work of Sandro Botticelli"
"The Figure of Mary in Botticelli's Art"
"Botticelli and the Medici: A Privileged Relationship"
"The Real Botticelli"

The book also includes lengthy discussions of the individual works, a chronology, and a bibliography.

I checked this out from my public library and I'm going to keep it and take it with me to a the Botticelli exhibit which the Muscarelle Museum of Art at the College of William & Mary is hosting now (2017).

One funny item is that the dust jacket of my book shows only the head of the figure, not the full and pretty much naked bust shown on this cover here. I guess it was too much for the American publisher to handle. ( )
