Guess that I am all alone in my rating. But this book hit all my cozy wants and I loved it. Embarking on Murder was written by Sue Owens Wright. She knows how to charm with Cruiser's basset hound antics and I really don't think it is necessary to have a corpse if you enjoy the cozy enough.

The setting was at Lake Tahoe and this is one of my favorite places so I was delighted to learn all about the lake. I didn't realize that the lake was so deep when I visited and what treasures were under the waters. I think what I loved most of all was the relationship between the mother and daughter in this book. I really didn't care about the crime so much as the wonderful quirky characters that inhabit this book.

I highly recommend it for all Lake Tahoe lovers, dog lovers and for discriminating cozy lovers. I am hungry for more. ( )

Fifty year old Elsie MacBean (Beanie) is a newspaper reporter/writer/amateur detective who, along with her basset hound, Cruiser, investigates the possible drowning/murder of a woman on a cruise boat.
