It helps that most of the family have a cold so I could justify just sitting their pouring over every word.I think I waited to so long to read the final book because I wasn't ready to let Todd and Viola - or Manchee (let's be honest, I love that little guy!) - go. I wanted to know that they were still out there, somewhere, getting ready for their last battle, hopefully their last war - before they could move on to what they could be. And I'm so glad I finally picked this up and completed their story. This final installment of the Chaos Walking Series does not disappoint!! The final struggle for Todd and Viola to go through - to try to right the world that is always working against them - and make it a world worth being together in. Although this book is full of the same chaos of war, it's new wars and darker wars - but a new world emerges in the midst of the ashes of the current war that gives you hope to keep reading and find out the ending. And try to understand.... was it worth it all or was the price too high to pay? UGH. I was so tempted to give this 2 or 2.5 stars but in the end decided that its ambition and strong first part of the trilogy wouldn't allow me to rate it lower. I still have a hard time believing the unusually high ratings of this third book, especially over the first one. It wasn't as good and the ending was...meh. In fact, it wasn't really an ending. It was a cop-out with very little resolution. A tragedy, really. Oh well. Read the first book of the series at least. no reviews | add a review

I was nervous starting this book because I had really high expectations. If you’ve read the first two books you’d have high expectations too. Thankfully this ending was better than I could have thought possible. Reading it was exhausting! There were so many emotions being thrown everywhere. I had no idea who I liked and disliked except Todd and Viola, obviously. You get so attached to them that every single emotion they feel, you feel it too. I loved both these characters because they made mistakes and felt guilt and just learned from everything they did. The author is amazing at writing about these characters. This book is really deep without being obvious. It’s just crazy! The ending was shocking and terrifying and I almost had to stop reading for a bit, but it was so amazing!
If you haven’t started this series yet, get on it! ( )
