Papercutz has revived Entertaining Comic's (EC) Tales from the Crypt to parody popular fiction. After I got over the fact that the stories themselves aren't drawn in the typical EC style, I enjoyed them. ( ) Very "quick and dirty" parody of Diary of a Wimpy Kid (a mere few pages worth), followed up by a thin parody of the currently popular Twilight series. Not worth the money but might appeal to sophomoric high schol boys. I will be trying to give this to my local used bookstore rather than give it to my nephew as previously planned. Bleech! personal response: Wow, this was garbage! I love EC comics like Tales from the Crypt and have collected them most of my life. I also love the Diary of a Wimpy Kid books. I was hoping for a funny take on this entertaining book line, but this was trash. The first story was enough to get a chuckle out of me, but after that it was down hill. I was actually hoping for a scary take on the storyline, not comedy. This was like Mad magazine, not Tales from the Crypt. I actually wish I hadn't read it. curricular connections: None. I wouldn't recommend this even being in a school library. I could never imagine myself saying that, but this deserves it. Not based on content, but based on the lack of effort that appears to have been put into it. no reviews | add a review
