To me, this book was just okay. I didn't like the MC and fully agreed with Sejal assessment of him. Selfish, cruel, his humor was awful. And I have a tough time loving a book when I do not like the main character

But, this book did redeem itself with the end. Not the plot's final ending. I found that pretty far fetched...that everyone would assume the role he planned for them (including Victor just seemed....a little too much to assume). But the actual ending...I liked that it gave many safe but totally unrealistic endings...and then gave the real one. Great ending to it and pulled a whole additional star onto the review for me.

I did like that it's a lighter version of a vampire story - no sappy love at first sight, weird love triangle or awkward feeding scenes. That was very refreshing for YA writing and something I appreciated. ( )

This book is brilliant.
The protagonist does not develop in any way and the novel is completely unapologetic about it.
I must take exception to most of the negative reviews out there simply because
the point they are trying to make is silly - the main character not maturing in any way displeased them - didn't they read the title of the book before cracking page one open?
What could possibly be clearer than: "never coming of age"?

It has promise and them lost its way. It really was all over the place and the ending left me cold. ( )

I'm a little sad. This had the makings of a really awesome book ... but it lost me somewhere along the way. I wasn't exactly dying for the book to be over, but I wasn't as interested as I was when I started reading.
I guess it was good. Not great, not bad, but good. ( )
