He was my favorite in the TV show and damn, he's a bit more intense in the book. There were a few times where I was like, "Finan, calm tf down, dude." There is quite a lot more action in this book even though it mostly takes place in Northumbria. It also felt more violent too, but that may be because the second book didn't have much action in it, so in comparison this one feels more violent.
