Loading... Raquel: Beyond the Cleavageby Raquel WelchInteresting in parts, more of a beauty guide than a autobiography. She has lived a life worth sharing bits from, I would recommend it. ( ) Raquel's book was a surprise to me. Not that I believed her dumb, sex-symbol persona, but I was pleasantly surprised at how well-spoken she was in her writing. There was no ghost writer involved. Filled with various pieces of advice to the older women out there, I learned some valuable lessons to incorporate into my own life. Pushing seventy, she had tips for exercise, diet, menopause, skin care, make-up, spirituality--it's definitely a girly-girl type of book, but it was peppered with interesting tidbits about her life and career too. The only area of the book that had me thinking "holy cow!", was the amount of time it would take me to do her make-up routine. But, look at her -- she's gorgeous, so obviously the time she spends is paying off in spades for her. Besides, she recommended Black Cohosh for hot flashes which I went out and got, AND IT'S WORKING! I can actually sleep now without waking up in the middle of the night feeling like I'm going to spontaneously combust -- so, for that alone, I applaud Raquel and recommend her story. |
