It’s been nearly three decades since I read it with my children; and it immediately delighted me again. There was a short author afterward too which was sweet. ( ) Because of Winn-Dixie is appropriate for readers aged 8-12, with an independent reading level of about 3rd to 5th grade. The book is accessible with its clear, straightforward language and relatable themes.
