68 children from the SOS Children's Village Rafah were evacuated to the West Bank, where they arrived safely on 11 March, accompanied by trusted caregivers who provide them with psychological support. SOS Children's Villages remains extremely concerned about people in grave danger in Gaza and continues to deliver the desperately needed aid. As many children in the UK head back to school, 13-year-old Mahdi faces a very different reality. When war broke out in Khartoum, Sudan, Mahdi and his family were forced to flee, taking hidden desert roads to escape the danger. After a long journey, they arrived in Wad Madani, where Mahdi started making friends and joined a football team. But when war reached them again, they were forced to move to Kassala.
