Preventive Effect of TRPV1 Agonists Capsaicin and Resiniferatoxin on Ischemia/Reperfusion-induced Renal Injury in Rats
- K. UedaF. TsujiT. HirataM. TakaokaY. Matsumura
- 1 May 2008
Medicine
It is demonstrated that TRPV1 agonists prevent ischemia/reperfusion-induced renal dysfunction and these renoprotective effects seem to be closely related to the inhibition of inflammatory response via TRpV1.
Antihypertensive Effect of Angiotensin I-Converting Enzyme Inhibitory Peptides from a Sesame Protein Hydrolysate in Spontaneously Hypertensive Rats
- D. NakanoK. Ogura Y. Matsumura
- 23 May 2006
Agricultural and Food Sciences, Medicine
It is demonstrated that sesame peptide powder would be a beneficial ingredient for preventing and providing therapy against hypertension and its related diseases.

Endothelial Nitric Oxide Contributes to the Renal Protective Effects of Ischemic Preconditioning
- Hiroshi YamasowaSatoko ShimizuTakao InoueM. TakaokaY. Matsumura
- 1 January 2005
Medicine
Findings strongly support the view that eNOS-mediated NO production plays a pivotal role in the protective effect of IP on ischemia/reperfusion-induced ARF.
The role of renal sympathetic nervous system in the pathogenesis of ischemic acute renal failure.

Pathophysiological roles of endothelin receptors in cardiovascular diseases.
- M. OhkitaMasashi TawaKento KitadaY. Matsumura
- 2012
Medicine
The current understanding regarding the role of ET receptors, especially the ET(B) receptor, in CVD is summarized.
Different Contributions of Endothelin-A and Endothelin-B Receptors in Postischemic Cardiac Dysfunction and Norepinephrine Overflow in Rat Hearts
- Satoshi YamamotoN. Matsumoto Y. Matsumura
- 25 January 2005
Biology, Medicine
ETA/NHE-mediated excessive NE overflow is contributive, at least in part, to postischemic cardiac dysfunction in rats, and exaggerated cardiac pathology under the above conditions is mediated by ETA receptor activation.
Nitric oxide inhibits endothelin-1 production through the suppression of nuclear factor kappa B.
- M. OhkitaM. TakaokaY. ShiotaRumi NojiriY. Matsumura
- 1 September 2002
Chemistry, Medicine
The findings suggest that the suppression of NF-kappa B activation is at least partly involved in the FK409-induced inhibition of ET-1 production in ECs.
Role of Na+/H+ Exchanger in the Pathogenesis of Ischemic Acute Renal Failure in Mice
- J. YamashitaM. Ohkita Y. Matsumura
- 1 March 2007
Medicine
It is suggested that NHE activation, followed by renal ET-1 overproduction, plays an important role in the pathogenesis of I/R-induced renal injury and the inhibition of NHE by EIPA may be considered as a therapeutic approach to protect the postischemic ARF.
Oestrogen protects against ischaemic acute renal failure in rats by suppressing renal endothelin-1 overproduction.
- M. TakaokaM. YubaT. FujiiM. OhkitaY. Matsumura
- 1 September 2002
Medicine
The results suggest that oestrogen exhibits protective effects against renal dysfunction and tissue injury induced by ischaemia/reperfusion, possibly through the suppression of endothelin-1 overproduction in postischaemic kidneys.
