口音hau2 jam1英文Accent)係某個國家地區或者個人講某隻語言嗰陣獨有嘅讀法。例如就噉靠日常觀察都可以得知,一個母語粵語嘅人,就算佢熟嗮英文啲發音、用詞同文法,佢講英文嗰時啲音,仲係會同一個以英文做母語嘅人有啲微妙嘅分別。

口音可以源自母語嘅影響或者地區嘅差異,例如攞一個母語係粵語嘅人同一個母語係日本話嘅人,佢哋兩個都熟嗮英文,佢哋講英文嗰時都會有口音[註 1],而且佢哋嘅口音都會唔同,以英文做母語嘅人有可能聽得出「佢哋母語唔係英文,而且兩個人母語唔同」;除此之外,(例如)攞一個美國人同一個澳洲人,就算兩者嘅母語都係英文,佢哋嘅口音都會有異[1][2]
