飞蜥科的一属爬行动物

树蜥属(学名:Calotes)是鬣蜥科的一属,包括24个物种。有些物种被称为森林蜥蜴,另一些因为红色的头为“吸血鬼”,还有一些称为花园蜥蜴。它们是原产于南亚、中国南部、东南亚大陆和安汶岛变色树蜥已被引入到美国佛罗里达州,婆罗洲,苏拉威西岛,塞舌尔,毛里求斯和阿曼。[2]该属物种多样

树蜥属与其它近缘属的区分是具有均匀尺寸背鳞,缺乏脸颊和肩膀之间的皮肤褶皱,四肢比Pseudocalotes属更强壮的。相较于Bronchocela,树蜥属的尾巴和四肢相对较短。在穆迪(1980)确立树蜥属之前,所有前面的物种都属于同一属。
